There are many fruits and vegetables that can be used to prepare detox drinks, some of which are very effective in removing toxins, boost the immune system, relieve cold, coughs, help you burn fat and lose weight. But this mixture is my personal favorite recommended detox water recipe for digestion, and can also help you lose some extra pounds around the waistline.
Detox water recipe for digestion
- 1 Ginger root grated or 1 tsp organic ginger powder
- 10 fresh mint leaves or 1 tsp organic mint powder
- 1 medium cucumber sliced into circles
- 1 1\2 Lemon 1 squeezed & 1 sliced
- 1 Liter of water
Preparation of fresh ingredients
Mix all of the fresh ingredients together into a large pitcher and cool in fridge, drink 3 times daily after meals.
Preparation of powdered ingredients
Heat the water below boiling point and cut off heat, add powdered ingredients stir to obtain an even mixture, let sit and cool, strain and add lemon juice, lemon slices and cucumber slices. Cool in fridge and drink 3 times daily after meals.

Aside from providing a dose of vitamin C, and other antioxidants, to fight wrinkles and blemishes while repairing damage from free radicals, the consumption of more water alone helps to purify the bloodstream of toxins, in addition to the urinary tract.
Detox diets encourage you to eat more fruit and vegetables, drink more water as well as cutting back on processed foods. It is also very empowering to feel like you are taking control of your diet which can boost your mood and motivate you to continue with positive changes.
If you really want to try a detox diet, look for one that includes all the food groups. Don’t follow a detox diet for more than a week. Use it as a kick start or stepping stone to making more long term lifestyle changes.
